Bad Hair Day.

My computer seem like having some problem for pass 2 days which I suspect is due to insufficient power since one of hard drive seem like loosing spin speed. I did some troubleshooting and finally found that my 4.5 years old Quantum hard drive detect a failure prediction error, after I ran full diagnostic software it give me the same error, anyway I managed to moved all my critical data to another drive which also going to fail sooner or later.

After recovery, I browse the Internet and went to Maxtor webpage and found a nice looking hard disk: 300GB, DiamondMax10, SATA-I with 16MB buffer and dual processor interface. This will be my first SATA drive to hunt at Sim Lim Square.

Normally I’m taking a bus ride towards my destination. It was about 1130am, I feel very good, I cross the road using a traffic light without anything happens to me. Just as I was near the staircase going up to the entrance of the mall I suddenly fall forwards towards the ceramic floor hitting hard on my right kneecap, I felt my chest muscle overstretch. I’ve got difficulty to move my right knee up and a little confused. I’ve got this episode before but this was worst as I could remember.

I saw two passes by that look quite surprise. It takes me few seconds for me to stand up luckily my left leg and arms have more strength. I managed to standup and slowly walks towards the staircase railing bar and hold to it. I firmly rub my right knee but still breathing very hard and my body muscle still felt pain.

The guy that saw me left since he thinks I’m OK. There’s actually a lady going downstairs and asked me if I’m ok? I told her that I’m ok and she left. Fortunately there’s someone around.

I still able to move up the staircase and went to gents to wash my face. I felt much better after that. In fact I managed to go for my lunch and got my hard disk later. I went home without any issue. I still managed to fixed the drive + improved routing of cable in the evening even though my vision a little blurred and did a mistake not inserted the data cable correctly, luckily it didn’t shot circuit. The troubleshooting was quite minor and I’m satisfied with the upgrade and also find out that I can do my work more productive.
